Paul Josephs’ Sonic Roots is a project offered as an homage to the masters of Blues, Funk, Reggae, Rock and Folk including artists such as B.B. King, The Meters, Bob Marley, Louis Jordan, Bob Dylan the Beatles and other greats.

Paul is a New York native New Yorker and has been playing professionally since age 16. He began his career opening up for the comedy shows at the New York Improv on Tuesday nights with his own youth blues band and his first professional side man job was with a group of older blues musicians, “Moose and the Bullet Proof Blues Band.” He tours internationally with his own music and has toured, performed and/or recorded with Dr. Lonnie Smith, Idris Muhammed, The Roots, Pharoahe Monch, Maceo Parker, Beyonce, Jean Grae, Rodney Jones, Arthur Blythe and many more.

The quartet features Josephs on guitar and voice with piano, bass and drums; the music is also presented in a solo, duo, trio, and septet with horns depending on the needs of the venue.

Paul is accompanied by a rotating cast of some of New York Cities very best touring musicians who collectively have played with the likes of Paul Simon, David Byrne, Taj Mahal, Ray Charles, and other musical giants.
